The Tyne and Wear Concessionary Travel Scheme has been established by the Tyne and Wear Integrated Transport Authority under the provision of Section 93 of the Transport Act 1985.  This has been updated for the Transport Act 2000, the Travel Concessions (Eligibility Act) 2002 and the Travel Concessions (Extension of Entitlement England) Order 2005.
